Burntide Official Website › What it supports
Burntide Benefits: What the Label Says It Supports
Burntide is made to support weight loss, metabolism and the body's natural fat-burning pathways.
Its label also lists clean cellular energy and fat oxidation. These five lines are structure-function statements printed on the jar.
The claims ceiling for this entire website. Nothing here says more than the label does.
The five Burntide claims, quoted
Five printed lines, and the rule that governs them.
Quoted exactly as printed, in the order the artwork prints them.
- Weight Loss Support
- Support a healthy metabolism
- Support the body’s natural fat-burning pathways
- Support clean cellular energy
- Support healthy fat oxidation
A dietary supplement may make structure-function claims, which describe a role in normal body function. It may not make disease claims, which say a product treats, prevents or cures anything. The five lines above are all of the first kind, and the boxed FDA disclaimer on the back of the jar is the legally required companion to them. The FTC's health products compliance guidance sets out what evidence a seller is expected to hold behind each one (the FTC's health products guidance).
Same five claims, same order, on an autumn hiking photograph, with the FDA disclaimer correctly printed across the bottom. The photograph is marketing. The five lines are the claim, and they are the ceiling.
The asset pack calls this a science image. It is a stock photograph of a tape measure and it demonstrates nothing. We print it with that caption rather than drop it, because how a seller files its pictures is itself information.
Each Burntide claim, translated
What each line means and how much sits behind it.
Each claim, translated into something a reader can act on, with the evidence that sits behind it and the size of the gap.
| The claim | What it means | What supports it | How strong |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weight Loss Support | Offered as support for a weight effort, not as a cause of one | Twelve-week vinegar trial at 15 to 30 ml daily (Kondo 2009) | Modest, and at 30 to 60 times this dose |
| Support a healthy metabolism | A broad structure-function phrase with no fixed meaning | Acetic acid and ketone metabolism literature (Newman and Verdin 2017) | Mechanistic, not outcome evidence |
| Support natural fat-burning pathways | Fat oxidation is a normal process happening now | Ketone bodies are products of fat breakdown (Cox 2016) | True as biology, silent on the dose |
| Support clean cellular energy | Marketing language for fuel without a stimulant | No caffeine on the panel, which is checkable | The checkable half is true |
| Support healthy fat oxidation | Same process as row three, worded differently | Ketone supplement literature (Yu 2023) | Dosed in grams, not milligrams |
Two of those five are essentially the same claim said twice, which is normal on supplement artwork and worth noticing when you are counting reasons to buy.
Five things the Burntide label does not say
Five things the label does not say, printed where the claims are.
It is not a weight-loss drug
The front panel says “Weight Loss Support”, which is a structure-function phrase, not a treatment claim. No supplement is approved to treat obesity, and the FDA publishes a running list of weight-loss products found to contain undeclared drug ingredients.
It does not put you in ketosis
Studies that moved blood ketones measurably used 10 to 25 grams of ketone salts or esters in a single drink. The entire blend here is 525 mg, covering vinegar and three salts together, so it is twenty to fifty times smaller than that.
It is not a meaningful mineral supply
Calcium at 1 mg and magnesium at 0.75 mg both print zero percent Daily Value. If you are taking this for minerals, the panel says plainly that you are not getting any.
It has not been trialled as a finished product
Every study cited on this website tested an ingredient, usually in a different form and almost always at a much larger dose. No trial of the Burntide gummy exists.
It does not replace food, sleep or movement
The third bonus guide the seller ships with the six-jar pack is about sleep, stress and daily habits. That is the seller's own material saying where most of the work happens.
That list exists because the alternative is letting a reader infer it. A page that only flatters the product it sells is a brochure, and the first thing a sceptical reader checks is whether anything on it costs the seller something.
What Burntide genuinely offers
Three things that survive scrutiny.
If the claims are modest, what is the product actually offering? Three things, and all three are real.
A routine you will keep
Adherence is most of what a daily supplement has going for it. A sweet chew before breakfast survives week three far more often than a tablespoon of vinegar in water does, and the vinegar trials themselves report tolerability as the limiting factor (Darzi 2014).
A published blend total
525 mg is a real number on a real panel. Plenty of products in this category print a blend with no total at all. This one is better than those, and worse than one that publishes the split.
A sixty-day exit
Sixty days is longer than the three to four week wait most buyers report, so the window is genuinely long enough to test the thing before deciding. That is not true of a thirty-day guarantee.
Those three are what this desk would put in an advertisement if it wrote one. They are smaller than “The Total Metabolism Breakthrough”, which is the headline on the official sales page, and they have the advantage of being checkable.
Reading a Burntide claim, and any other
Five checks that work on any label in the category.
How to read any supplement claim in about thirty seconds, using this label as the worked example.
- Find the verb. Support, maintain, promote and help are structure-function verbs. Treat, cure, prevent and reverse are drug claims and should not appear.
- Find the number. A claim with no dose attached cannot be checked against anything. Here the only number is 525 mg for four ingredients together.
- Find the disclaimer. If the FDA statement is missing from a page making structure-function claims, something is wrong. It is boxed on the back of this jar and it is at the foot of every page on this website.
- Check the citation actually matches. A journal logo is not a citation and a citation about the gut microbiome is not about a metabolism gummy. See the section on the two logos.
- Ask what the product would have to do to fail. If no outcome would disappoint, the claim is not saying anything.
The FDA's own consumer material sets out the same distinction in more detail (the FDA's questions and answers), and the FTC's guidance on online advertising covers what a seller has to be able to substantiate.
